The Reserva Especial Red Encostas de Lá Âmago is the most heartfelt tribute to the son, brother and friend of the Grande Porto’s family, Mário Nuno Gonçalves, who represents the inspiration and pride of all those around him. It's the best of each one, represented in the form of a wine.

It comes from a portuguese term "Âmago" - which represents the most intimate part of a person (essence) and the main reference of something (core), in conjunction with the meaning of the names Mário (sociable and thoughtful) and Nuno (brave and strong). It is he who continues the first steps taken by the founders of Grande Porto and who, with leadership and kindness, bridges the gap between the past and the future, without ever forgetting his roots and essence.

In a unique wooden box with blue and brown golden details, it represents the simplicity and nobility of a exclusive and unrivaled wine.

Cépage: Touriga Franca (50%), Touriga Nacional (40%) e Tinta Amarela (10%)
Production Method: The grapes were harvested manually in the plots that presented a more balanced maturation and were subjected to crushing and total destemming. This is followed by a period of 24 hours of pre-fermentation maceration at 30ºC. Malolactic fermentation induced with temperature control for a minimum of 10 days. Transfer to 225 liter French oak barrels, where it remained for 12 months. Stage in bottle for 6 months.
Tasting Note: Cor rubi profunda. Aroma intenso a frutos pretos, ameixa, e cássis, notas de especiaria, alcaçuz e baunilha. Textura sedosa, taninos finos; intenso; boa concentração e final longo e muito persistente.
Suggestion: It is advisable to consume it at a temperature between 16°C and 20°C. Ideal to accompany spicy dishes from Mediterranean cuisine, cheeses and refined pasta, roasted red meats and game dishes.
