It is with this motivation that Grande Porto – Vinhos e Bebidas – has been preparing and selecting the best grape varieties batches throughout the years in order to produce unique and singular wines.
The Grande Porto Vinhos e Bebidas born in 2005 from a family passion and the will and dedication to wine production. Your first wine Messala Alvarinho, is produced in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço with the most noble variety of Vinho Verde, the Alvarinho variety, and its name is baptized “Messala”, in honor of the main mentor of the wine project. Over the years we have expanded the production of our wines to other regions – Douro, Alentejo, Dão and Lisbon – as a result of an opportunity that arose in the foreign market. The Alentejo region, known for its hills, gave rise to the brand Montes de Lá. From the Dão region, where we find imposing mountains, we removed the brand Serras de Lá. From the Douro region, well known for its beautiful slopes, the brand was born Encostas de Lá. Finally, from the Lisbon Region comes the characteristic wine Pode Ser, produced to instill the need and desire in the consumer, making it a real and pleasurable possibility, full of sensations and emotions. It comes from the expression “pode ser”, which regulates verbal interaction, thus facilitating the ritual of socializing around a table.
